17th Annual Grand Prix d'Art Painting Race
The old School House Arts Centre (TOSH)
Qualicum Beach, BC

Qualicum Beach Painting

This fun event, held each year in Qualicum Beach, brought together together 46 artists to paint en Plein Air at locations around this beautiful resort town.

At 10:00 am the artists draw locations from a hat, find their spots and set up to paint. At 11:00 am the artists start painting and at 2:00 pm brushes are downed, the artsits quickly frame their efforts and return to TOSH for judging and socializing.

The event draws artists from both Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia as well as tourists, locals and other artists interested in watching a diverse group quickly paint a view or object within a close radius of their set location.

David enjoyed the day and was pleased when his painting was chosen First Place and was purchased by another artist.
